How we rate adult sites

Every site we review gets the same checks, in the same order, under the same rules. This page explains exactly how it works, including what we don't do.

The short version

• We check official documents and independent sources.
• Every claim is tied to a source, and every review shows when we last checked.
• Six criteria, weighted the same way for every site.
• Commissions never enter the maths.
• When we can't find enough evidence, we say not enough info instead of guessing.

What counts as evidence

We use three levels of evidence, and every review says which one it rests on.

• Verified from sources. We cross-check official documents (pricing pages, terms of use, refund and privacy policies, legal notices) against independent records such as domain registries, public data-breach databases and regulator decisions.
• Reported by users. Reviews and complaints on public platforms. We present them as what users report, never as proven fact, because they can be biased in either direction.
• Hands-on. A person on our side signs up and tests the service, with dates and screenshots.

We don't do hands-on testing yet. Today our reviews rest on documents and independent sources, and we haven't used the services ourselves. No review claims otherwise. If that changes, each review will say so clearly.

A few rules keep this honest:

• Every review shows the date we last checked it.
• If a criterion doesn't have adequate evidence, we mark it "not enough info" and don't score it by guesswork.
• When two sources disagree, we go with the primary or independent one, and we leave out any claim we can't confirm.

The six criteria

We also run checks specific to each kind of site:

• Dating sites: fake profiles and bots, what the free tier really gives you, renewal and cancellation traps, how easy it is to delete your account.
• Cam sites: token and per-minute prices, repeat-purchase upsells, off-platform payment scams, how performers are verified.
• Fan platforms: subscription and pay-per-view prices, refund rules, impersonation and fake accounts, what shows up on your bank statement.

From evidence to a score

Each criterion is scored out of 10 from the evidence, then weighted to give the overall score. Scores map to four labels:

The Verified label also requires solid, verified evidence on trust, pricing and payment. If any of those three lacks adequate evidence, the review shows Not rated yet and can't carry the Verified label.

Red flags

Some findings cap a site's score at 5.5 and get their own box in the review:

• documented hidden charges;
• a cancellation process that is deliberately hard;
• a documented pattern of refusing refunds;
• a data leak the company failed to handle;
• proof of large-scale fake profiles;
• impersonation of creators.

Complaints alone are not proof. User reports stay labelled as reports.

Independence

• We write the score before looking at what an affiliate programme pays.
• Rankings follow scores, and only scores. When two sites tie, the one we checked more recently comes first.
• We earn affiliate commissions from some of the sites we cover, and we explain how in our affiliate disclosure.
• We don't accept payment to change a score, a ranking or a review.

Keeping reviews current

We re-check every review at least every 90 days, and sooner if something important changes, such as prices, terms or a security incident. Each page shows its last-checked date and an update log. If we can no longer verify a page, we mark it as outdated or remove it.
